Throne of Shadows, Logs [ Audio Recording ]

This is Commander Spock of the Starship Enterprise. On Stardate 2260.70, I was kidnapped by Nysgods, a race known to the Federation only as myth, until now. These are my observations.

[ Day 153 | 1 ]
After suffering a temporary period of unconsciousness, I am captured and awake in Niflheim. Though I have lived in an alternate reality, I am forced to deduce the possibility of alternate universes, as I have just met Captain Jane Tiberius Kirk. I have verified that she shares Jim's memories.

That evening, I meet for the first time in my life, a vampire named Dorian Carver.

[ Day 154 | 2 ]
My inquiry for candidates with a respectable scientific background leads me to meet Dr. Nicolas Rush and Mr. Obi-Wan Kenobi, and realize that Nurse Chapel and Ensign Chekov have also been abducted.

A young human walks into a conversation between the Captain and myself in the bathroom.

I am beginning to wonder if Nysgods have a bias towards vampires. I meet a second, named Diana Abel.

[ Day 155 | 3 ]
Some of the other candidates are in disbelief.

[ Day 157 | 5 ]
The Captain and I discover that Othala Temple is floating thousands of miles above the main planet.

[ Day 158 | 6 ]
For reasons unknown, I awoke to find that my biology has been changed to that of a human. It is ... surprising. After some investigation, in which I meet many additional candidates, Nurse Chapel and I are able to locate the origin of the transformation, which we plan to announce the next day.

Through these events however, I have a conversation with Mr. Kurt Hummel, who I find to be very curious.

Despite my clear objections, the Captain continuously inquires towards my emotional status. She arrives in my quarters. Later in the evening ... 

... she kisses me, as a human kisses another. In what can only be attributed towards my strengthened human emotional bias, I did not object.

[ Day 159 - 160 | 7 - 8 ]
I spend both days in meditation. Speaking to no one except to hear the Captain's nightly report. We do not speak of what occurred.

[ Day 161 | 9 ]
In the early morning, I witness Mr. Carver crying tears of a red substance I can only conclude as blood.

Jane inquires the candidates on their knowledge of magic. I do not believe she will find anything convincing, but I ask that she keep me updated on her progress.

In the evening, I walk past the dining hall to find Mr. Hummel and another young human, Mr. Blaine Anderson, painting posters. They invite me to be a judge for Ming's festival. Despite having never met her, I agree. In retrospect such action lacked proper forethought.

[ Day 162 | 10 ]
Mr. Ben Braeden announced to all candidates that there exist techniques to block Nysgods from entering one's thoughts. It is peculiar that such a notice arrived so late after the latest group of candidates arrived. Regardless, I express clear interest in learning and am paired with Mr. Kenobi. I begin lessons immediately.

[ Day 168 | 16 ]
To use her native vernacular, I am glad for Nurse Chapel, who has setup her own medical clinic.

[ Day 169 | 17 ]
Lt. Sulu is kidnapped and arrives in the temple. Oddly, one of my first inquiries for her regards the female version of myself.

[ Day 170 | 18 ]
I met the Doctor, and we discuss the nature of dimensional fault lines. 

The Captain informed me that she has shot Mr. Carver with her phaser, a course of action I would have strongly advised against. I also informed Jane that I have lost all telepathic connection with my people. I have also lost my connection to T'Pring. I would prefer to resolve my current predicament before the next pon farr.

[ Day 171 | 19 ]
Mr. Carver mistook my voice for the voice of the human God. Our continued conversation in his quarters resulted in his syncope. I soon learned that many candidates have reverted to versions of themselves at age 16, including Jane. I find it fascinating that humans change so significantly within a matter of years.
 
[ Day 172 | 20 ]
Ensign Chekov sought advice to aid her pursuit of a cure, whilst in parallel, demons appear throughout the temple, endangering the lives of many candidates. Some setup a preliminary defense in the training rooms. I immediately call upon Starfleet officers for the formation of a search and rescue team. Lieutenant Sulu performs admirably.

Mr. Hummel asks that I investigate the disappearance of Mr. Anderson. I quickly agree.

That evening, I run into the Captain, who is clearly inebriated and still suffering from memory loss, in the hallway. I escort her to her quarters, at which time she sought fit to ...

... press her lips upon mine, again. I am unsure as to what this truly signifies.

[ Day 173 | 21 ]
I have the rather curious experience of hearing Mr. Charles Xavier's voice in my mind. He confirms that he is a telepath.

Jane wishes to speak. I have no doubts that it is in regards to the previous evening.

[ Day 174 | 22 ]
After a series of inquiries to temple workers, I ask Mr. Allgood for information regarding candidate disappearances.

[ Day 175 | 23 ]
Ms. Rose Tyler asks the very logical and pressing question regarding how we'll be chosen to be Prince Tristan's mate. I ask her to keep me informed.

[ Day 176 | 24 ]
Mr. Carver, who has recovered, invites me to tea. We discuss the American Civil War.

Lt. Sulu argues we should attend Ensign Chekov's wedding together. While similar diplomacy could have resulted from our attendance as individuals, I am impressed and offer to escort her. 

I inform Mr. Hummel of the facts I have learned regarding Mr. Anderson's disappearance.

[ Day 177 | 25 ]
A lapse in mental and physical dexterity causes me to collide with Mr. Draco Malfoy. I also seek out Ms. Devi to verify that she is well.

[ Day 181 | 29 ]
Mr. Braeden and Ensign Chekov are married. I arrive with Lt. Sulu. At the reception, I congratulate the couple, dance with Sulu, Ms. Zoey, Mr. Carver, Ms. Chell, and the Captain. More on that later. When I step out onto the balcony, I speak again with Mr. Carver, and meet Mr. Julian Reed for the first time. He attempts to explain magic. I will seek him out again.

When waltzing with the Captain this evening, I found myself in a strange trance-like emotional state. It compels me, almost, to do something illogical and to which I know I will regret. But I am able to maintain control. I will need to meditate again, and soon.

When the festivities are over, I walk Lt. Sulu back to her quarters. However, on the way I find Mr. Carver yelling and cursing in the training rooms.

I spend the day in meditation.

[ Day 183 | 31 ]
I help the Captain practice her Orion, and learn that Lt. Gaila is in Niflheim. I attempt to make contact.

I meet Mr. Merlin for the first time, and he looks into the ... occult aspects of the communicators.

[ Day 186 | 34 ]
While searching for machinery, I suffer severe tissue damage from a room that lights on fire. I warn the other candidates.
